Stafford Traffic Cam & Privacy
Stafford Traffic Cam provides a live view of traffic on Newport Road in Stafford town centre.
The camera is operated by Vivid Design & Print Co and is provided as a free local traffic information service.
What the camera captures
The camera shows a public road and surrounding street scene for the purpose of showing current traffic conditions.
The camera is not intended to identify, track or monitor particular individuals or vehicles. While people or vehicles may incidentally appear in the live picture, the purpose is traffic viewing, not identification.

- No facial recognition
- No automatic number plate recognition
- No intentional identification of individuals
- No archive of the livestream operated by Stafford Traffic Cam
Live stream only
Stafford Traffic Cam does not intentionally record or archive the camera footage. The video is broadcast live.
The livestream is delivered through YouTube. When you load or interact with the YouTube player, YouTube/Google may process technical information relating to viewers, such as your IP address and device type, under its own terms.
Why we operate the camera
The purpose of Stafford Traffic Cam is to:
- Provide a live indication of traffic conditions on Newport Road
- Help residents, commuters and visitors make travel decisions
- Provide a useful free local traffic information resource
It is not used for crime prevention, enforcement, security monitoring, tracking individuals or automatic number plate recognition.

Physical signage
Signage is displayed at the camera location informing people that a live camera is in operation.
YouTube
The live video is delivered using YouTube. Our player uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode via youtube-nocookie.com.
When a visitor loads or interacts with the YouTube player, Google/YouTube may receive technical information about their device and interaction with the embedded service. This processing is carried out by YouTube/Google under its own privacy policy.

Stafford Traffic Cam does not control Google's independent data processing.
Cookies and third-party services
Stafford Traffic Cam does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel or other advertising trackers.
The YouTube player may set cookies or process technical data as described above. Links to external traffic cameras, roadworks services and our sponsor take you to websites we do not control; their own cookie and privacy policies apply once you leave this site.

Data protection
Live video may constitute processing of personal data where an individual can be identified, even though Stafford Traffic Cam does not retain a recording of the livestream.
We aim to handle this responsibly by keeping the camera focused on general traffic conditions, not identifying individuals, and not archiving footage.

The M6 traffic camera, Staffordshire County Council and National Highways links take visitors to external websites which operate under their own privacy policies.
